HICKORY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College volleyball team
defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University 3-0, in South Atlantic Conference
action Saturday morning at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium. Tusculum won
by scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-17).
The Pioneers (13-5, 4-2 SAC) were led by Katie
Luebke (Bellefontaine, Ohio) as she tallied 12 kills while
Kelsey Hayden (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and
Carly Swisher (Fort Collins, Colo.) recorded 10
kills each.
Tusculum's Peyton Colclough (Manassas, Va.)
registered a match-high 36 assists and Erika
Garcia (Dayton, Ohio) added 11 digs.
Lenoir-Rhyne (6-13, 0-6 SAC) sophomore outside hitter
Lindsey Cantu (Orlando, Fla./Pine Castle Christian
Academy) led the way for the Bears with 12 kills and while junior
right side hitter Kassi Henry (Denver, N.C./East
Lincoln HS) added nine of her own.
Sophomore setter Hannah Stewart (Statesville,
N.C./West Iredell HS) dished out 35 assists and junior libero
Elizabeth Flattery (Sparta, N.C./UNC Greensboro)
tallied a match-high 13 digs for L-R as well.
The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday night when they host
Brevard College for a 7 p.m. SAC match at Pioneer Arena.
