Brooks honored as AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University junior Brittani Brooks has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week in women's tennis for the week ending Feb. 10, the SAC office announced Monday.

Brooks did not lose a game in either singles or doubles as the Pioneers defeated Virginia-Wise 7-0 in their first official match of the spring on Saturday. Brooks defeated Grace Hall of UVA-Wise 6-0, 6-0 at flight five singles, after teaming with Emilie Hansen for a 6-0 win at flight three doubles over the Cavaliers' Montana Hill and Lillian Morris.

Brooks, a native of Allen, Texas, has a career record of 17-9 in singles and 26-9 in doubles for the Pioneers, who are 2-0 overall this season and ranked second in the ITA Division II Southeast Region.

Tusculum will return to action on Friday at noon against 10th-ranked Indianapolis in Lexington, Kentucky.
