Pioneers ranked 10th in NCAA Division II Southeast Region

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum women's tennis team is 10th in the initial NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, which were released this week.

The Pioneers entered the week with a 14-5 against Division II opponents this season, and are one of three South Atlantic Conference teams in the regional rankings, joining Wingate (fourth) and Queens (ninth). Tusculum has one win against a regionally-ranked opponent, a 5-2 victory on March 7 against a Northwood squad that is 20-2 and ranked second in the Midwest Region.

The Pioneers (16-6, 9-2 South Atlantic Conference) will close out the regular season on Friday with a match against Southern Wesleyan on the campus of Western Carolina in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Tusculum will compete at the SAC Women's Tennis Championship next Thursday through Saturday in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
