Tusculum shuts out North Greenville 9-0

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum defeated North Greenville 9-0 in non-conference women's tennis action Tuesday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.

The 39th-ranked Pioneers (15-6) dropped just one set en route to the win over the Crusaders (9-11) as Tusculum improved to 8-0 on its home court this season.

In doubles, the Pioneers won all three matches by identical 8-2 scores. Katarina Majorova and Franziska Funke won over Christina Kiessling and Kylie Sandusky at flight one, Annie McCullough and Jule Brass downed Camille Duhan and Fernanda de Lucca at flight two, and Brittani Brooks and Amber Lackey were victorious at flight three over Graysen Elms and Faith Moyans.

In singles, Majorova defeated Kiessling 6-4, 6-1 at flight one, Funke shut out Duhan 8-0 at flight two, and McCullough swept de Lucca 6-0, 6-0 at flight three. At flight four, Julia Lopez won 7-6, 6-4 over Sandusky, Africa Mota needed a tiebreaker to beat Elms at flight five by a score of 6-3, 1-6, (10-3), and Brooks was an 8-0 winner over Moyans at flight six.

The Pioneers will play their final South Atlantic Conference and home match of the season on Wednesday when they host Coker at noon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
