SKILLMAN, N.J. --- The Tusculum College women's
tennis team is listed eighth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis
Association Division II Southeast Region Rankings, announced
officials Friday.
The Pioneers (12-3, 5-0 SAC) have won four straight matches and
five of their last six outings as Tusculum sits a top the South
Atlantic Conference standings.
Defending national champion Armstrong Atlantic State University is
the top ranked team in the region and in the nation. Columbus State
University is second, followed by Francis Marion University,
Clayton State University, Augusta State University, Georgia College
& State University, Erskine College, Tusculum, Limestone
College and Lander University.
The ITA Southeast Region Poll is not used for selection purposes
for the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Following Friday's league match with Newberry College, the
Pioneers will travel to Brevard College on Saturday for another SAC
battle.
