NO. 27 Women's TENNIS FALLS TO ROCKHURST

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. --- The Rockhurst University women's tennis team defeated No. 27 Tusculum College, 7-2 Monday morning in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Rockhurst (No. 10 in ITA/NCAA II Midwest Region) improves to 3-1 on the season, while Tusculum falls to 7-2 on the year.

Caitlin Buckley and Hannah Lazenby edged the TC No. 2 doubles team of Amanda Pike and Jennifer Sparks, 8-6 in pro sets. The No. 3 doubles duo of Mary Lanaghen and Rachel Lanaghen posted an 8-4 win over Heidi von der Lage and Kristen Keefer.

The Hawks also got singles win by Kandice Belanger, Caitlin Buckley, Erin Bales and Lazenby,

The Pioneers recorded singles points by Blake Thompson and Caroline Crowe at the fifth and sixth flights. Thompson defeated Rachel Lanaghen, 6-1, 6-3, while Crowe won 6-4, 6-4 over Leigh-Anne Fourie.

Tusculum will be in action Tuesday morning as the Pioneers face Tiffin University at 8 a.m.
