Tusculum 10th in latest United Soccer Coaches regional rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The Tusculum women's soccer team is 10th in the Southeast Region in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Regional Rankings, released Tuesday.

The Pioneers (2-1-0) dropped one spot from ninth in the initial rankings after playing just one match last week, a 2-1 victory over NAIA member Tennessee Wesleyan last Wednesday in Tusculum's home opener.

Columbus State remains as the top team in the region, followed by Carson-Newman, Limestone, Flagler and Queens in the top five. Belmont Abbey climbed four spots in this week's rankings from 10th to sixth, followed by Lenoir-Rhyne, poll newcomer UNC Pembroke, North Georgia and Tusculum.

This week's rankings feature four South Atlantic Conference teams (Carson-Newman, Queens, Lenoir-Rhyne, Tusculum) along with future Pioneer opponents Columbus State and Limestone.

The United Soccer Coaches College Rankings are an indicator of week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for selection to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship.

The Pioneers host Lincoln Memorial in their conference opener on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
