Pioneers ranked eighth in NSCAA Southeast Region poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The Tusculum College women's soccer team has entered the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Southeast Region rankings this week following a pair of road victories last week.

The Pioneers (5-2-2, 3-0-1 South Atlantic Conference) are eighth in the Southeast Region after winning at Lincoln Memorial (2-0) and Anderson (1-0) last week. Tusculum is one of four SAC teams listed in this week's regional poll, and one of four newcomers to this week's poll.

Carson-Newman jumped three spots from fourth to first in this week's rankings, followed by Columbus State, former number-one North Georgia, Limestone and Armstrong State. Catawba is ranked sixth, followed by Lenoir-Rhyne, Tusculum, UNC Pembroke and Young Harris.

Along with Carson-Newman and Catawba, Tusculum is one of three teams unbeaten in conference matches so far this season. The Pioneers are off until they resume conference play on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Newberry at Pioneer Field.
