The Tusculum College Women's soccer team remains seventh in this
week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America
(NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division II Southeast Region poll, which
was released Tuesday.
The Pioneers (4-3-3) played to a 0-0 draw with Anderson on Sunday
afternoon in their only match of the week. Tusculum has not allowed
a goal in its last 496 minutes, 8 seconds of action with five
shutouts over that span.
Tusculum is 2-0-2 in the South Atlantic Conference, tied for fifth
place in the SAC standings, and continues to be the only team in
the league to have yet to allow a goal in conference matches.
Columbus State (7-3-0) took over the top spot in this week's NSCAA
regional rankings, followed by Armstrong Atlantic (5-1-2) and
former number-one team North Georgia (7-2-0). Lenoir-Rhyne (6-2-1)
continues in fourth, with Lander (8-0-0) and Belmont Abbey (7-2-1)
swapping fifth and sixth places this week.
Trailing Tusculum in the standings are Wingate (6-1-3) in eighth,
Lincoln Memorial (6-2-1) in ninth and a three-way tie for 10th
between Clayton State (6-3-2), Queens (6-2-2) and newly-ranked
Newberry (5-4-0).
The NSCAA/Continental Tire College Rankings are an indicator of
week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be
used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for NCAA championship
selection.
The Pioneers are on the road Wednesday afternoon for a South
Atlantic Conference match at Brevard starting at 1:30 p.m.
