Box score GREENEVILLE, Tenn. ---

The Tusculum College Women's soccer team recorded its third straight shutout in a 3-0 victory over Lees-McRae College in non-conference action Wednesday night at Pioneer Field.

The Pioneers (3-3-2) led 1-0 at halftime and scored two goals early in the second half to defeat the Bobcats (1-6-0). Nikki Arthur, Monica Perez and Taylor Lewis recorded the goals for the Pioneers, while reigning co-South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week Marissa Williams had three saves for her fourth shutout of the season.

Tusculum took a 1-0 lead at 19:11 as Arthur blasted home a cross from Jenique Thombs for her second goal of the season. The margin stood into halftime despite a shot off the crossbar from the Bobcats' Sarah Mahar in the 13th minute.

Perez gave the Pioneers a 2-0 lead just 2:50 into the second half as she corraled a loose ball in the box and connected on a turnaround shot for her first goal of the year. Lewis closed out the scoring at 63:25 as she flicked home a service from Amy Neltner for her second goal of the season.

Tusculum finished the match with a 14-9 edge in shots over Lees-McRae, and took four corner kicks to three by the Bobcats. The Pioneers outshot the Bobcats 9-5 in the second half after having a 5-4 advantage over the first 45 minutes.

Williams' shutout was her 18th career clean sheet, moving her into sole possession of second place on the program's all-time list. The Tusculum career record for shutouts is 20, set by Jennie Murphy from 1999 to 2002.

Alicia Pierson started in goal for the Bobcats and made four saves before departing with 21:28 left following a collision in the box. Kaitlyn Briggs played the rest of the way and made two stops for Lees-McRae.

Tusculum returns to South Atlantic Conference action on Sunday against Wingate, with kickoff at 1 p.m. from Pioneer Field as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.
