KANSAS CITY, Kan. ---

The Tusculum College Women's soccer team has moved up to fifth in the Southeast Region in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's regional rankings, through games of Sunday, September 9.

The Pioneers came away with three wins in as many matches last week, including a 4-0 victory over Saint Leo, then ranked eighth nationally, on Friday. Tusculum, which was ranked ninth in last week's survey, also defeated Concord (3-0 on Wednesday) and Nova Southeastern (3-0 on Sunday) to finish the week without allowing a goal.

Lenoir-Rhyne is the only other South Atlantic Conference team in the regional rankings, as they dropped out of first into a tie for third with Armstrong Atlantic. Columbus State moved into the top spot after a 2-1 win over Lenoir-Rhyne, followed by North Georgia in second.

Tusculum (4-1-0) will square off with UNC Pembroke (3-0-0) Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Pioneer Field in a battle of regionally-ranked opponents. The Braves are ranked eighth for the second week in a row after winning a pair of matches last week.
