Tusculum College head Women's soccer coach Mike Joy has
announced a fourth commitment to his 2012 recruiting class, as
midfield Gabrielle Whitt will join the Pioneer program.
Whitt, a native of Mason, Ohio, is a teammate at Mason High School
of 2012 Tusculum signee Courtney Hackney. Whitt is a member of the
Elite Clubs National League Ohio Elite team U18 squad, where she
plays for head coach Tim Lesiak. At Mason, she played for head
coach Andy Schur and was an integral part of a team that won
conference, sectional and district championships and finished as
regional runner-up in 2011 with an 18-3-1 record.
"Gabby sees the field well and distributes the ball, elevating her
teammates around her," said Joy. "We graduated two central players
that played together in high school (Claire Duncan and Michelle
Meade from Greeneville High School) and we are bringing in two
central players from Mason High School that also played together. I
am quite please with our 2012 recruiting class."
Whitt joins Hackney, forward Patti Jordan (Crossville, Tenn.) and
