BRISTOL, Tenn. --- Kim Brown tallied the winning goal with 10:48 remaining in the second half as Tusculum College earned its fifth straight win with a 1-0 victory at King College in non-conference Women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Brown scored her fourth goal of the season after taking a pass from Colleen Moloney, dribbling into the box and shooting low left into the Tornado net. The Pioneers improve to 8-3 with the victory while the Tornado drop to 4-6.

The Pioneers outshot the Tornado 9-1 in the first half, but put just two shots on King keeper Abbey Kitts. Tusculum continued to apply pressure and finally broke through on Brown's goal in the 80th minute, and sat back and limited King to just two shots the rest of the match. Overall, the Pioneers had a 15-5 shot advantage and a 4-2 lead in corner kicks.

Marissa Williams made just one save to earn her fifth shutout of the season for the Pioneers, while Kitts had five stops for the Tornado.

Tusculum will be back on the road Tuesday night with a South Atlantic Conference match at Wingate beginning at 7 p.m., a contest rescheduled from Sept. 24.
