Tusculum College Women's soccer coach Mike Joy has announced
that Bailey Elder has committed to play for the Pioneers beginning
with the 2011 season.
Elder is a 5-8 central defender/midfielder and attends Boone County
High School in northern Kentucky. She was a four-year starter, a
two-year captain, a four-time All-Conference selection and named
All-Northern Kentucky three times. As a senior, Elder was named to
the NKAC All Star Team and competed in the Cincinnati All-City All
Star Game. She was a member of the Kentucky state and regional ODP
teams and Super Y team, and played club soccer for the Kings Soccer
Academy U-17 Elite Team and competed on various MRL league
teams.
"We are very excited to sign Bailey as we anticipate she will
compete right away. She is a strong central player and can help us
fill the void of all those central players we graduated," said Joy.
"She is technically sound and a true ball winner. She has the
potential and character to hopefully one day be a leader on this
team."
The Pioneers finished 9-9-1 overall and 3-5-1 in the South Atlantic
Conference in 2010, advancing to the SAC semifinals for the 10th
time in 12 seasons.
Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with
the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of
the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of ten colleges
and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South
Carolina.
