Tusculum College sophomore forward Tramicka James has been
recognized by the South Atlantic Conference as its Women's soccer
Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday
afternoon.
James, from Wilson, N.C. (Fyke HS), tallied three goals in two SAC
road matches last week, helping the Pioneers to a 4-2 win at
Lincoln Memorial and a 1-1 tie at Catawba. James scored the
Pioneers' first two goals to erase 1-0 and 2-1 deficits in the
victory over LMU, then scored the tying goal in the 73rd minute
against Catawba.
James, who is SAC Player of the Week for the second time in her
career, has scored at least one goal in each of the Pioneers' last
six matches and tallied 12 goals over that span. Her 15 goals this
season are tied for eighth on the program's single-season list,
while her 26 career goals are tied for seventh all-time in program
history.
The Pioneers will carry an 8-6-1 overall record and a 3-3-1 SAC
mark into Wednesday night's conference match with Carson-Newman,
which begins at 7 p.m. on Pioneer Field.
