The Tusculum College Women's soccer team is well-represented in
the latest NCAA Division II statistics as sophomore forward
Tramicka James ranks in the top 40 in four categories and junior
forward Patience Leonard is in the top 20 in two other categories,
through games of October 10.
James, a Wilson, N.C. native and graduate of Fyke High School, is
24th in total goals with nine and 28th in total points with 21. Her
averages of 0.75 goals per game and 1.75 points per game rank 33rd
and 36th, respectively, in this week's report. James scored five
goals in two matches last week, including the first four-goal
performance by a Pioneer since 2002 in an 8-0 win at Barton on
Saturday.
Leonard, from Greeneville, has accumulated seven assists through 12
matches to rank 17th in Division II in total assists and 19th in
assists per game at 0.58. She had a pair of two-assist matches last
week, against King in a 6-0 win on Wednesday and in the match at
Barton.
As a team, the Pioneers are 12th in Division II in scoring offense
out of 230 teams at 2.92 goals per game, having scored 35 times in
12 matches.
Tusculum (6-6 overall, 1-3 SAC) will host Anderson University
Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Niswonger Sports Complex /
Pioneer Field in a South Atlantic Conference match.
