ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University freshman goalkeeper Emily White has been selected the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 16, the SAC office announced Monday.
White made her first two career starts last week against UVA Wise and Newberry, finishing with a combined total of 30 saves and a .600 save percentage in the two contests. White had 16 saves, tied for the third-most in a game in program history, in Tusculum's 14-9 win over UVA Wise on Wednesday and followed up with 14 saves in an 11-6 setback to second-place Newberry on Saturday.
The Roswell, Georgia native has appeared in 13 games this season for a total of 390 minutes, 18 seconds and has a 10.30 goals against average and a .407 save percentage. She ranks fifth in the SAC in goals against average and eighth in save percentage, while ranking 12th with 46 saves.
The Pioneers (6-9, 3-6 SAC) will conclude their regular season on Saturday, April 22 at Mars Hill beginning at noon.
