GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Walsh University defeated Tusculum University 16-7 in non-conference women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Field.

Becky Parker scored four goals and Grace Andreski, Emily Atwood and Ellen Lawrence had two goals apiece for the Cavaliers (3-0), who outshot the Pioneers 37-20 and led 12-2 at halftime.

Juliette Cusano, Rachel Holmes and Eliza Ryan each scored two goals for the Pioneers (0-5), with Emily Youngblood also scoring a goal. Jessica Spiegel had two assists and Holmes one for Tusculum, which went just 8-for-21 on clear attempts and turned the ball over 24 times.

Lawrence opened the scoring just eight seconds into the first half, but Cusano came back just over a minute later to tie the score at 1-1. The Cavaliers then went on five-goal and six-goal runs to close out the half, with a free-position goal from Cusano the only tally from the Pioneers with 16:04 left in the half.

Youngblood opened the second-half scoring for the Pioneers, but Parker and Sarah Dankowski extended the Walsh lead to 14-3 with 26:01 to go. Ryan and Holmes had back-to-back goals twice in the half for the Pioneers, but Andreski and Parker also had goals as the Cavaliers played conservatively against a depleted Tusculum lineup.

Ryan had a team-high five ground balls for the Pioneers, while Holmes had four draw controls and Youngblood and Brittany Lowery collected three apiece. Walsh had 29 ground balls as a team to 15 by Tusculum, led by Luisa Landaverde with six and Lawrence with five. Hannah McFeeters had six draw controls to go along with a goal and an assist for the Cavaliers.

Taylor Floyd made her first career start in goal for Tusculum and finished with 14 saves. For Walsh, Mikaela Faus had five saves in 46 minutes and Rebecca Tomaszewski had three stops in the final 14 minutes.

Tusculum will return to action on Tuesday, March 12 on the road against Emmanuel, starting at 3 p.m.
