Nick Forsberg was named the interim head golf coach at Tusculum College on March 1, 2018.  He also serves as the department's Director of Athletic Marketing & Promotions

Forsberg, a native of Staples, Minnesota, was a four-year standout on the Tusculum golf team from 2012-2016 where he led the Pioneers to the 2015 South Atlantic Conference championship.  He helped the Pioneers to 11 tournament titles and ended his career with a 74.40 stroke average which ranks third in Tusculum history.  His 89 competitive rounds played are the second-most in Tusculum history while his 18 career sub-par rounds are ranked third in the TC record book.  He earned All-Conference laurels twice and was a two-time SAC All-Tournament selection.  He accounted for 25 top-20 finishes during his career, including 20 times in the top-10 and 12 top-five performances.

Forsberg closed out his senior campaign with a 72.93 scoring average, which ranks fifth in TC history while earning All-SAC first team accolades.  He turned in eight sub-par rounds in his final collegiate season, won medalist honors at the Etowah Spring Challenge and led the Pioneers to five tournament titles.

During the 2014-2015 season, he helped the Pioneers to five team titles, including the SAC Championship where he carded a one-under par total 143 to claim SAC Tournament Most Valuable Player honors and made a birdie on the final hole to secure the championship medal and the Pioneers’ first-ever SAC Championship.  Tusculum earned a berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament where he finished 33rd individually at the South/Southeast Super Regional.

The 2016 Tusculum graduate finished with a 3.75 cumulative grade point average while majoring in sport management.  He earned 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors in his senior campaign and was named the SAC Men’s Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year for both the 2015 and 2016 seasons.  Forsberg was a member of the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List, Charles Oliver Gray Honors List and was the 2016 recipient of the Tusculum President’s Award.

Outside of golf, Forsberg was an active student on campus, participating and becoming president of the Pioneer Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

After Forsberg’s graduation in 2016, he joined the athletics department as the new graduate assistant for all administrative staff while obtaining his Master’s degree in human resource development in 2017.
