GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's golf team is back in action this Monday and Tuesday as they compete at the King University Invitational at the Country Club of Bristol.
The Pioneers got the 2019 fall season off to a roaring start in winning last week's Mars Hill Fall Invitational at the Johnson City Country Club. TU rallied from an eight-stroke deficit to fire a final round 304 and post a two-day total 629 to win by four shots and win the MHU Invitational for a second straight year.
Tusculum senior Jennifer Keim led the charge with her 77-72=149 to capture runner-up honors. TU placed three golfers in the top-five with newcomers Yen Xuan Ong and Taylor Gransen both tying for fourth place with 36-hole scores of 155.
Junior Mackenzie Butler carded a collegiate-best 77 in her final round, shaving 21 shots off her first day score. The highlight of last Tuesday's round was her hole-in-one on the 17th hole, her second of her career and first at Tusculum.
Making her collegiate debut this week is Melbourne, Australia junior Bianca Findlay. Findlay comes to Tusculum after playing previously at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa.
This week's trip to Bristol will be the Pioneers' inaugural visit to the King Invitational.
