Tusculum announces 2019-2020 women's golf schedule

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's golf team has announced its 2019-2020 schedule according to TU head coach Ross Cash. (Full Schedule)

The Pioneers will be competing in 10 regular season events culminating with the 2020 South Atlantic Conference Championship in the spring.

Tusculum will host the Bob Dibble Match Play Championship, which will be held at Graysburg Hills Golf Club in Chuckey, Tennessee with all proceeds of the event to benefit the Niswonger Children's Hospital. The three-day tournament will be a stroke-play event for the women while the men's teams will be playing a match-play format.

Tusculum officially opens the season Sep. 16-17 as the Pioneers make the short trip to Johnson City for the Mars Hill Invitational. This year's event will take place at the Johnson City Country Club.

A week later, Tusculum will stay in the Tri-Cities area and play at the King University Invitational at the Country Club of Bristol (Sep. 23-24).

The Pioneers will head to the Atlantic Coast for the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate (Sep. 30-Oct. 1) in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. Tusculum has played in each of the last 18 times this tournament has been held (cancelled in 2015) including two years ago when Tusculum finished runner-up in the 18-team event.

Tusculum closes out the fall at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational (Oct. 7-8) in Salisbury, North Carolina and hosted by Catawba College. The Pioneers recorded a ninth place showing at last year's event and have won this tournament on three occasions (2012, 2014, 2015).

The Pioneers will be at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate on Feb. 10-11 in St. Augustine, Florida and will be conducted at the St. Johns Country Club.

Tusculum will play at the Low Country Invitational (Mar. 2-3) in Bluffton, South Carolina and is hosted by Wingate University.  TU will also be at the Barton Invitational a week later (Mar. 9-10) in Wilson, North Carolina.

The Pioneers will compete at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, Mar. 15-17 at the Sevierville Golf Club. The event is hosted by Tennessee Tech and has traditionally included a field of Division I competition as well as other collegiate teams from around the region.

Tusculum hosts the 23rd annual Agnes McAmis Memorial to close out the month of March (Mar. 23-24).    The Pioneers have won this event seven times and nearly made it eight last spring falling in a playoff to Catawba.

The South Atlantic Conference Championship will be held Apr. 5-7 at Woodlake Golf Club in Tazewell, Tennessee and hosted by Lincoln Memorial University.  The winner of this year's championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament in May.  Tusculum has claimed the SAC Championship on two occasions (2000, 2001) and has accounted for a pair of runner-up finishes in 2013 and 2017.

Following SAC Championship, Tusculum will host a unique event with the inaugural East Tennessee Tri-Senior Day Event, which will be held on Apr. 13 at a site yet to be determined. The one day event will feature the men's and women's teams of Tusculum, LMU and Carson-Newman University.

The NCAA II Super Regional will be held May 4-6 at Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida with the NCAA National Championship slated for May 13-16 in St. Albans, Missouri.
