GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's golf team fired an opening round 312 and is in second place after day one of the 22nd annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Tournament.  The two-day, 36-hole event is being held at the par-71, 5,930-yard Link Hills Country Club.

Tusculum Orange is three shots behind tournament leader Catawba College as the Indians posted a 309.

TU senior Katie Tomassoni led the Pioneers with her five-over par round of 76 which has her in a tie for fifth place and is five shots behind first day leader Roxane Nataf of King University who logged an even-par tally of 71.

The Catawba duo of Kaley Barts and Sarah Coltrane each fired a 73 while Lauren Allen of Missouri S&T having sole possession of fourth place with her 75.

Shorter University is in third place with 319, followed by King (323), Missouri S&T (325) and Tusculum Black (347) to round out the team scoring.

TU Orange has four players in the top-nine so far as freshman Olivia Cunningham is in eighth place with her 78, while senior Cydney Murrell and sophomore Mackenzie Butler are tied for ninth with 79.  Freshman Julia Johansson is tied for 12th place with her 81.

For the TU Black squad, senior Taylor White shot an 83 and is in 17th place.  Rookies Lauryn Munn (T21st) and Jacque Butler (T24th) shot 86 and 88, respectively.  Meredith Barton is 28th with her 90, while senior Trista Holder shot 91 and is in 29th place.

Tuesday's final round will begin at 10 a.m. at Link Hills.  Tusculum is the defending champion and are looking for its seventh McAmis Memorial title.
