GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum duo of Ciara Rattana and Cydney Murrell both carded 36-hole totals of 154 (+10) and are tied for fourth place after day one action of the 21st annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Women's Golf Tournament. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 5,910-yard Link Hills Country Club.
The Pioneers posted rounds of 318 and 322 for a 36-hole tally of 640 and are 19 shots behind tournament front-runner Shorter (299-322=621). The Hawks are being led by individual leader Dallas Vaughn, who fired a 148 on Monday, including a morning round of 69 (-3) and leads by four shots over Newberry's Johana Lunackova, who carded back-to-back scores of 76 for her 152.
Newberry is in second place in the team competition with 633 and is a dozen shots behind Shorter. Tusculum is third with 640, followed by King (655), Union, Tenn. (678), Tusculum B (709) and UVa-Wise (786).
Rattana opened the day with a 74 which was the second lowest round of the day. She followed with an 80 in the afternoon session. Murrell posted a 78 to start the day and shaved two shots off of that score with a 76 in the afternoon round.
Katie Tomassoni is in 12th place with 82-81=163 while the duo of Taylor White (84-87=171) and Mackenzie Butler (86-85=171) are tied for 20th place.
On the Tusculum B team, Kelsey Haun is in 19th place with 85-85=170, while freshman Meredith Barton is tied for 24th place with 91-85=176. Trista Holder is 27th with 95-86-181, Maggienella Basile is 31st with 93-91=184 and senior Sayre Hopper rounded out the scoring with her 93-99=192 which has her in 33rd.
The tournament will wrap up on Tuesday with the final 18 holes which will begin with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
