MONROE, N.C. --- The Tusculum women's golf team posted a score of 329 and are locked in a three-way tie for seventh place after the opening round of the Wingate Challenge. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being played at the par-72, 5,968-yard Rolling Hills Country Club.
Lincoln Memorial posted the best round of the day with a 308 and have a three-shot lead over tournament host Wingate. Lenoir-Rhyne and Young Harris are tied for third place with 312, while North Georgia rounds out the top-five with 319. Belmont Abbey is sixth with 325, followed by the trio of Tusculum, King and Coker who each shot 329 and are tied for seventh. Catawba is 10th with 331 while Pfeiffer is 11th with 347.
Tusculum senior Ciara Rattana shot 79 and is tied for 16th place. She is seven shots off the pace set by LMU's Dominika Czudkova who sits atop of the leaderboard with her even par round of 72.
TC junior Cydney Murrell is tied for 21st with 80, while junior Katie Tomassoni shot 83 and is tied for 37th position. Junior Taylor White is 49th with 87, while freshman Mackenzie Butler posted a 91 and is tied for 52nd.
The final round will be held on Tuesday at Rolling Hills Country Club.
