Tusculum women move up to 32nd in Golfstat rankings

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. --- The Tusculum women's golf team is listed 32nd in the nation according to the Golfstat NCAA Division II rankings. 

The Pioneers have posted top-five finishes in six of its seven events this season, including last week's runner-up performance at the Lincoln Memorial Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

Tusculum is also listed nationally in five team statistical categories including 15th in birdies (124), 21st in par-3 scoring (3.31), 29th in sub-par strokes per round (1.70), 47th in score versus par (+7.58) and 48th in team scoring average (79.46).

Tusculum junior Katie Tomassoni is listed three times in the Golfstat national statistics including ninth in par-3 scoring (3.06), 30th in par-5 scoring (4.97), 48th in birdies (31).

Senior teammate Ciara Rattana is averaging 2.53 sub-par strokes per round which is the 36th best average in the country.

Four Tusculum players have a sub-80 scoring average so far this season.  Tomassoni leads the charge with her 75.47 scoring average and has finished in the top-five in six of her seven tournaments including medalist honors at the Bob Dibble Classic and finished third at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial.

Rattana has a 76.20 stroke average where she has five top-10 performances including runner-up honors at the Dibble Classic and tied for fifth place with Tomassoni at the Barton Invitational at Kiawah.

Junior Cydney Murrell is third on the team with her 78.33 scoring average which includes four finishes in the top-10. Junior Taylor White is averaging 79.60 strokes per round which is fourth on the team. White has a pair of top-20 finishes including a fifth-place performance at the Dibble Classic.

The Pioneers return to action Mar. 19-20 as they compete at the Wingate Challenge in Monroe, North Carolina.
