Women's golf listed 37th in Golfstat rankings

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. --- The Tusculum women's golf team is currently listed 37th in the nation according to the Golfstat NCAA Division II rankings. 

The Pioneers have posted top-five finishes in five of its six events this season, including a third place showing at the Barton Invitational at Kiawah earlier this month.

Tusculum is also listed nationally in four team statistical categories including 21st in birdies (107), 28th in par-3 scoring (3.31), and 50th in both team stroke average (79.69) and score versus par (+7.69).

Tusculum junior Katie Tomassoni is ranked 10th in the country in par-3 scoring (3.06) and is 50th in par-5 scoring (5.00).  Senior teammate Ciara Rattana has recorded 31 birdies so far this season, which are tied for the 27th most in the country.

Four Tusculum players have a sub-80 scoring average so far this season.  Tomassoni leads the charge with her 75.7 scoring average and has finished in the top-five in five of her six tournaments including medalist honors at the Bob Dibble Classic and finished third at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial.

Rattana has a 76.5 stroke average where she has four top-10 performances including runner-up honors at the Dibble Classic and tied for fifth place with Tomassoni at the Barton Invitational at Kiawah.

Junior Cydney Murrell is third on the team with her 78.9 scoring average which includes three finishes in the top-10. Junior Taylor White is averaging 79.8 strokes per round which is fourth on the team. White has a pair of top-20 finishes including a fifth-place performance at the Dibble Classic.

The Pioneers return to action this Monday and Tuesday as the travel to Fleming Island, Florida for the Lincoln Memorial University Spring Kickoff.
