Rattana climbs six spots at NCAA Super Regional

ELGIN, S.C. --- Tusculum's Ciara Rattana carded a second round 79 to climb six spots on the leaderboard after day two of the 2017 NCAA Division II South Super Region Women's Golf Championship.  The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being held at The Members Club at Woodcreek and hosted by Newberry College.

Rattana, a junior from Western Springs, Illinois, improved by eight shots from her opening round 87 on Monday and is tied for 59th place playing as an individual competitor with 87-79=166 (+22).

The three-time All-South Atlantic Conference first team selection started on hole No. 10 and carded a two-over par 38 on her outward nine holes including seven pars and bogeys on No. 13 and No. 15.

She posted a five-over 41 on her final nine holes including bogeys on three of her final four holes.

Saint Leo's Marie Coors has the 36-hole lead with 75-73=148 (+4) and leads by one stroke over first round leader Charlotte Puts of Barry University and Krissy Ortiz of Lynn University who are tied for second place with 149 (+5).

Barry continues to hold the team lead after 36 holes with 612, four shots in front of second place Saint Leo (616) in the 12-team field.

The final round will be played on Wednesday on the par-72, 6,114-yard layout.
