Rattana wraps up day one at NCAA Super Regional

ELGIN, S.C. --- Tusculum's Ciara Rattana carded an opening round 87 in day one action of the 2017 NCAA Division II South Super Regional Monday at The Members Club at Woodcreek.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being hosted by Newberry College at the par-72, 6,114-yard layout.

Rattana, who is competing in her first NCAA championship event, is in 65th place and is 14 shots out of th lead currently held by Charlotte Puts of Barry University, who fired a one-over par 73.

Rattana is playing as one of six individual competitors in this week's regional championship.  Barry leads the team competition following a day one score of 308 and leads by one stroke over Saint Leo (309) and three shots ahead of third place West Georgia.

The second round will be played on Tuesday with play beginning at 8:30 a.m. Rattana begins her second day at 9:20 a.m. and will be teeing off hole No. 10.
