MONROE, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team posted a three-day total of 968 to finish sixth at the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Championship which was held at the Monroe Country Club this week.

The Pioneers fired a final round 316 for the team's best score of the week in the 54-hole conference championship, which was conducted on the par-72, 5,981-yard layout and hosted by Wingate University.

Sophomore Ciara Rattana was the top finisher for the Pioneers as the two-time All-SAC first team selection posted 83-75-77=235 to tie for seventh place and earn a spot on the SAC All-Tournament second team.

Queens University of Charlotte captured its first SAC Championship in school history as the Royals finished with a total of 938, four shots better than runner-up and defending league champion Carson-Newman University (942). Lincoln Memorial University finished third with 944, followed by Newberry College (946), Wingate (956), Tusculum (968), Anderson University (974), Coker College (983), Lenoir-Rhyne University (986), Mars Hill University (1003) and Brevard College (1111).

Grace Glaze of Queens, the 2016 SAC Player of the Year, captured SAC Tournament MVP honors with a three-round total of 223. Glaze edged SAC Freshman of the Year Abbey Hartsell of Lenoir-Rhyne by one shot (224). Rounding out the SAC All-Tournament first team ae Nabila Inak (Newberry), Taylor Hayes (Carson-Newman) and Rhea Bhatia (Queens).

Lincoln Memorial's Reagan Greene finished sixth, followed by Rattana, Kyle Nizolek (Queens), Elizabeth England (Carson-Newman), Meridith Hawkins (Carson-Newman) and Caitlin Starrs (Wingate) to comprise the All-Tournament second team.

Tusculum junior Taylor Lambertsen tied for 21st place carding 241, while freshman teammate Katie Tomassoni posed 245, including a final round 78 on Tuesday. Senior Calley Lawson finished 42nd with 250, including a season-low 80 in her final collegiate round. Freshman Taylor White fired 252 to finish 44th and wrap up the TC scoring.

Lawson wraps up a solid collegiate career finishing with an 86.18 scoring average, which is the 15th-lowest in program history, while her 76.5 career rounds played are the eighth-most by a Pioneer.
