SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team fired an opening round score of 319 and are in fifth place at the 2015 Patsy Rendleman Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at the par-72, 6,005-yard Country Club of Salisbury and hosted by Catawba College.

The University of West Georgia has the day one lead as the Wolves posted a 297 and have a two-shot advantage over second place UNC Pembroke (299). King University is third with 309, followed by Converse College (318), Tusculum, Pfeiffer University (320), Lenoir-Rhyne University (320), Lincoln Memorial University (321), Coker College (326), Anderson University (329), North Greenville University (333), Belmont Abbey College (335), Erskine College (339) and Barton College (356).

TC sophomore Ciara Rattana led the charge as she carded a one-over par 73 and is in fifth place individually. Freshman Katie Tomassoni had another solid round as she is tied for sixth with 74. Blythe Scrivner shot 85 and is tied for 47th, while freshman Taylor White shot 87 and is tied for 60th. Taylor Lambertsen rounds out the scoring with an 88 (T63rd).

Rookie Cydney Murrell, playing as an individual competitor, shot 76 and is tied for 10th place. Senior Calley Lawson, who is also competing as an individual is tied for 37th with 83.

The final round will be played on Tuesday morning.
