TUSCULUM WOMEN FINISH FOURTH AT L-R/MYRTLE BEACH INTERCOLLEGIATE

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - A penalty shot scored by Telmo Dantes at the 88:14 minute mark gave the Tusculum men's soccer team (6-6-2, 3-1-1 SAC) the 3-3 tie with No. 10 Carson-Newman (10-1-2, 3-1-1 SAC) Tuesday night on Pioneer Field.

The Pioneers struck first with an unassisted goal by Lucas Paulini at 10:15. The Eagles quickly caught up and took the lead with goals by Chris Collins and Lars Holstad. Dantes then scored his first goal of the game at 82:14 with a pass from Bruno Conceicao tying the game at two. After a Pioneer own goal, Paulini was tripped in the Eagle's box for a penalty shot.

TC had seven shots in the combined overtime periods but could not get a goal past Carson-Newman goalie Jordan Moore who had 10 saves. Pioneer goalie Lance Moore stopped 10.

Tusculum will travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 7 p.m. game Friday.
