Virtual women's basketball ring ceremony

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The 2019-2020 Tusculum University women's basketball team had a virtual reunion this week as student-athletes received their championship rings for winning the South Atlantic Conference Tournament title last spring.

The Pioneers capped a remarkable season by winning six of their final seven games including three in row to claim the program its third SAC Tournament title and secure the sixth NCAA Division II Tournament appearance in school history.

The "Voice of the Pioneers" Brian Stayton served as the virtual host as members of the team, along with former head coach Devan Carter, assistant coaches and support staff from last year's squad reminisced about last year's tournament run and the season overall.

Tusculum finished the year with a 24-7 record as the campaign was ended prematurely due to the COVID pandemic prior to the NCAA postseason. It was the program's second straight 20-win campaign and 14th in school history.
