Tusculum reports secondary violation, vacates four SAC women's basketball wins

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- The South Atlantic Conference has announced that the Tusculum University women's basketball program would vacate four of its league wins from the 2018-19 season.

The Tusculum University athletic department self-reported a SAC Policy violation to the league office and it was determined that the Pioneers would vacate four of its conference victories recorded from Jan. 9 to Feb. 2 of this year.

The conference records of the other schools involved will not change, which is consistent with the NCAA's nullification process.  The wins are vacated but all individual and team statistics will remain.

"We regret that an error was made in the certification process," said Doug Jones, TU vice president of athletics and university initiatives.  "We self-reported this secondary violation as soon as we became aware of the error."

Tusculum's overall record is adjusted to 16-8, while its conference record moves to 8-8 entering next week's Pilot / Flying J South Atlantic Conference Basketball Tournament. Official tournament pairings will be announced by the league office on Saturday.
