CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- The Tusculum University women's basketball team is ranked sixth in the latest D2SIDA Southeast Region poll, through games of January 20.
The Pioneers fell two spots after losing at home 75-70 to Carson-Newman last Wednesday and 73-67 at Wingate on Saturday. Both the Eagles (14-4) and Bulldogs (12-4) moved up into a tie for third in this week's rankings.
Anderson (15-2), which is ranked 11th in the D2SIDA national poll, continues to lead the regional rankings followed by North Georgia (12-2), Carson-Newman, Wingate and Lander (11-5) in fifth. Rounding out the top 10 behind Tusculum are Clayton State (10-4), which returned to the poll in seventh, Newberry (11-4), Barton (14-4) and another poll newcomer in Limestone (11-6).
The Pioneers (12-4), who beat Newberry 75-54 Monday afternoon, will travel to Lincoln Memorial to face the Railsplitters on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in a South Atlantic Conference matchup.
