CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- The Tusculum University women's basketball team has moved up two spots to fourth in this week's D2SIDA Division II Southeast Region rankings, released Monday.

The Pioneers (4-0) won their only game last week, defeating Virginia State 74-48 last Monday at Pioneer Arena. The Trojans had been ranked sixth in the Atlantic Region by D2SIDA heading into the game.

Columbus State (3-0) took over the top spot in this week's rankings, moving up from third after defeating then-top ranked Carson-Newman 88-83. The Eagles (5-1) dropped to second and North Georgia (4-1) fell to third, one spot ahead of Tusculum.

Barton (5-0) is fifth, followed by Wingate (4-2), Newberry (5-0) and a tie for eighth between Francis Marion (2-0) and Lander (2-2). Flagler (4-2) rounds out the top 10, which consists of the same 10 teams from last week but each in a different position in the rankings.

Tusculum will open its South Atlantic Conference schedule on Wednesday night with a visit to Anderson at 6 p.m., followed by a road game at Catawba on Saturday at 2 p.m.
