Women's BASKETBALL LISTED IN NCAA STATISTICS

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- The USC Upstate baseball team capitalized on four errors as the Spartans defeated No. 14 Tusculum College 4-2 Wednesday afternoon at Harley Park.

The Spartans (6-2) plated two runs each in the third and six innings, all unearned. Tusculum (6-1) made only one error through its opening six games, before committing four miscues on Wednesday.

Tusculum shortstop Maikol Gonzalez went 2-for-4 as the Pioneers were held to five hits on the afternoon.

Tusculum pitcher Brandon Tuten scattered six hits, allowed four unearned runs, walked none and struck out three in his six innings work.

The Pioneers will open South Atlantic Conference play this weekend as Tusculum travels to Lincoln Memorial University for a three-game series, beginning with Saturday's noon doubleheader.
