Omar Lane is beginning his first season on the Tusculum College track & field coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach.  Lane will be assisting with the Tusculum sprints, hurdles and relays.

He comes to the Greeneville campus after serving as a graduate assistant coach at the University of South Dakota from 2015-2016.  While at the Vermillion, South Dakota school, Lane worked with the Coyote sprinters and hurdlers as well as the USD relay teams.

Lane spent four seasons (2011-2015) as a member of the men's track and field team at Tiffin University in Ohio.  He captured Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles in the 100m and 200m dash in 2014.  He garnered NCAA Division II All-America first team honors in the 4x100m relay in 2015.

Lane served as the head track and field coach at Faith and Dreams Academy in Columbus, Ohio from 2011-2014.  He also taught various sport classes including football, soccer and baseball.

He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration in sports and recreational management from Tiffin in 2015.  He later earned his Masters of Arts degree in multidisciplinary studies from South Dakota in 2017.
