Several Pioneers compete on final day at ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. --- Several members of the Tusculum University indoor track & field teams competed Saturday at the Buccaneer Indoor Track & Field Invitational, held on the campus of East Tennessee State University.

The Pioneers will return to competition at the VMI Winter Classic, held Friday-Saturday, Feb. 11-12 in Lexington, Virginia.

MEN'S RECAP
The Pioneers received a strong run in the 4x400 relay from a C group of David Saruni, Xavion Bogus, Stephen Brewer and Joshua Stephens, as the quartet placed eighth overall with a time of 3:26.53 that is the seventh-fastest in program history.

Stephens also competed in the triple jump and finished 12th with a mark of 13.32 meters (43 feet, 8 1/2 inches) which places him fourth on the program performance list in the event.

WOMEN'S RECAP
Just two Pioneers competed on the final day of the Buccaneer Invitational. Kenisha Stubbs ran 2:49.51 in the 800 meters, and Shanee Angol threw a season-best mark of 10.38 meters (34 feet, 3/4 inch) in the shot put.
