McMillen selected as SAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University senior distance runner Nicole McMillen has been selected the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 7, the SAC office announced Tuesday.

McMillen competed in the steeplechase for the first time in her career at the Lenoir-Rhyne Classic on Saturday and won the event with a time of 10:51.34. Her time beat the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard by more than 10 seconds and placed her 15th on the latest Division II performance list.

The Pickering, Ontario native is atop the SAC performance list in the event by more than 15 seconds and ranks second among all runners in the Southeast Region. She also is the top-ranked runner in the SAC in the 5000 meters at 17:49.32.

The Pioneers will return to action on Saturday at the Gamecock Invitational, hosted by the University of South Carolina.
