ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University's Guillaume Devries and Nicole McMillen earned AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track & Field weekly honors. Devries was named the SAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week while McMillen was tabbed the SAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Devries, a junior from Valenciennes, France, was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Meet at the ETSU Invitational after he provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship. He won the high jump with a height of 2.10 meters, which is now the second best jump in the SAC and the sixth highest jump in NCAA Division II.
A senior distance runner, McMillen finished second overall at the ETSU Invitational, nearly missing her own school record, in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:20.63. The Pickering, Ontario, Canada native did break her school record in the mile run, crossing the line in fourth with a time of 5:14.87.
The Pioneers return to action this weekend (Fri. & Sat.) as they compete at the Gamecock Inaugural in Columbia, South Carolina.
