LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Tusculum sophomore outfielder Delaney Guerrero has been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Southeast Region team, the NFCA announced Wednesday.
Guerrero, a second-team selection, is the first Pioneer softball player to earn All-Region honors since Kaytlin Stroinski was a second-team All-Region pick by Daktronics following the 2014 season. She is the fourth Tusculum player to be named All-Region since the Pioneers joined Division II for the 1999 season.
Guerrero was voted first-team All-South Atlantic Conference after she finished fourth in the league in batting average with a .421 mark, and is tied for fourth in the league with 67 hits. Guerrero had 12 doubles, two triples and two home runs and drove in 28 runs, while finishing with a .440 on-base percentage and a .560 slugging percentage.
The Elgin, South Carolina native started all 49 games for the Pioneers, leading the team with 21 multi-hit games including six three-hit games. She hit .397 in 20 conference games, and committed just two errors in 73 chances in her first season as Tusculum's starting rightfielder.
In two seasons at Tusculum, Guerrero is a .356 hitter with 103 hits, two home runs and 40 runs batted in to go along with 53 runs scored and six stolen bases.
The Pioneers finished 24-25 overall and 6-14 in the SAC during the 2018 season.
