ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College
student-athletes Kaytlin Stroinski, Treslyn Reese and Carolyn
Williamson have been named to the 2015 All-South Atlantic
Conference softball team, announced by the league office on
Wednesday.
Stroinski was selected as the second-team shortstop and picks
up All-Conference honors for a third time in her career. Reese was
named the honorable mention catcher while Williamson was an
honorable mention outfielder. Williamson lands on the All-SAC squad
for a second straight season while Reese earns her first
All-Conference nod.
Stroinski, a senior from Howell, Michigan, will leave TC in
the top 10 of 20 different categories in the Pioneer record book
including batting average, home runs and stolen bases. This season,
she led the team with a .438 on-base percentage (9th in school
history) with the help of a team-high 18 walks. Stroinski also had
four triples, which ranks third in the SAC and 36th nationally. Her
43 hits, 32 RBIs, nine doubles, and seven home runs all ranked
second on the team.
Stroinski had 12 multi-hit games, including five perfect
efforts from the plate, and 10 multi-RBI outings. She smashed two
homers and drove in four runs in a win over Montevallo and had
three doubles in a win over Coker on Senior Day. Stroinski hit her
final collegiate home run against Lenoir-Rhyne last weekend in the
Pioneers' first ever sweep of the Bears.
Reese made an immediate impact in her first season at
Tusculum. The sophomore catcher from Auburn, Alabama had a
team-high nine home runs, which tied for second in school history.
Reese threw out 16-of-34 runners attempting to steal and had a .993
fielding percentage, which is the highest in school history for a
catcher. She committed just one error in 138 total chances between
42 games.
Reese led the team in doubles (13) and RBIs (34) while owning
a team-high .681 slugging percentage, which was 7th-highest in
school history. She finished with 39 total hits and a .430 on-base
percentage. Reese had 11 multi-hit games including a 3-for-5 effort
at the plate with a double and homer in a win over Pfeiffer. She
had two four-RBI games including in a win at Queens and in the
final game of the season, the victory at Lenoir-Rhyne.
Williamson was a consistent bat in the Pioneer lineup all
season and made numerous spectacular plays in centerfield. Her .358
batting average led the team and ranked 17th in the SAC. Williamson
was also the Pioneers' leader in hits with 49 and had a team-high
eight sacrifice bunts. The junior from Knoxville, Tennessee had 10
stolen bases and was hit by five pitches, which is tied for fourth
all-time in the Tusculum record book.
Williamson had 14 multi-hit games, including two three-hit
performances, and six multi-RBI games. She had the dramatic walkoff
hit vs. Wingate that drove in two runs and was a perfect 4-for-4 at
the plate with two RBIs in a win over King.
The Pioneers finished the season with a 21-21 overall record
and a 9-13 mark in the SAC. TC set a new single-season record with
36 home runs.
