Weather moves Tusculum, Wingate softball games to Sunday

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Due to the threat of inclement weather, Saturday's South Atlantic Conference softball opener between Tusculum College and Wingate University has been postponed 24 hours and will be played Sunday afternoon at Red Edmonds Field. The doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m.

Tusculum (8-8, 0-0 SAC) have rattled off victories in five of its last six outings. Wingate (10-8, 0-0 SAC), the 19th-ranked team in NCAA Division II, has dropped its last five games entering Sunday's action.

The Pioneers are in the middle of an eight-game home-stand. Following Sunday's league opener, Tusculum will host King University for a doubleheader on Monday, followed by a SAC twin-bill with in-state rival Lincoln Memorial University.
