ROCK HILL, S.C. --- The Tusculum College softball team
will be the No. 7 seed in this week's Food Lion South Atlantic
Conference Tournament. The Pioneers will face No. 2 seed and
tournament host Lenoir-Rhyne University on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in
Hickory, N.C.The winner of the Tusculum/Lenoir-Rhyne matchup will advance to the second round of the eight-team, double elimination format and face the winner of the Carson-Newman/Mars Hill tilt on Friday at 11 a.m. This marks the third time the Pioneers and Bears have met in the SAC Tournament. Lenoir-Rhyne has won each of the previous two postseason meetings.
The winner of the Food Lion SAC Tournament will earn the league's automatic berth to next month's NCAA Division II Tournament.
Lenoir-Rhyne won both regular season meetings between the two teams, and holds a 27-3 all-time record against the Pioneers.
All tournament tickets will be available at the gate for $12 for adults and $6 for students and children. Daily ticket prices are $6 for adults and $3 for students and children.
