Miselli Named Off the Block National Freshman of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- National recognition for the Tusculum men's volleyball team continues to roll in as Matteo Miselli was selected as the Off the Block National Freshman of the Week, the website announced earlier this week.

The Reggio Emilia, Italy native set a new career-high and program record with 25 kills in a match. Miselli did so at Lees-McRae in the week's first match and repeated the effort in the five-set victory over Urbana. The outside hitter was efficient in those two contests with an average of .349 and .429, respectively. Miselli also contributed five service aces, 17 digs, and five block assists.

In the four matches of the week, he averaged 5.21 points, 4.58 kills, 1.42 digs, .42 aces, and .42 blocks in each set.

Throughout his first collegiate season, Miselli has landed 160 kills on a .227 hitting percentage, alongside 17 assists, 23 aces, 53 digs, and 17 total blocks.

Tusculum will play its first home match in over a month when the Pioneers host the Queens University of Charlotte Royals in an IVA battle on Saturday at 2 p.m.
