Men's Volleyball Visits West Virginia for Second Straight Weekend

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University men's volleyball team returns to West Virginia for the second consecutive weekend, meeting up with the Alderson Broaddus Battlers on Valentine's Day. The Pioneers were also scheduled for a rematch at Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday, but the match has been postponed until April 10.

RECAPPING THE WEEK
The Pioneers fell in straight sets to both George Mason and Charleston (W. Va.) on Saturday, moving to 2-9 in their inaugural season.

Matteo Miselli was the offensive power, knocking down 21 kills across the six sets. Miselli was the lone player to reach double-figure kills in both matches for Tusculum. Tom Kait made a mark with his 12 kills. Lucas Blanco stepped back into the main setting role, dishing out 38-of-44 assists. Miselli recorded half of the Pioneers' six service aces, with Kait, Mackenzie Scott, and Blanco rounding out the category.

Defensively, Jaret Knight added the most digs with eight, just ahead of Kait and Ivan Sosa's five. Amorim is credited with two block assists, while Miselli had two total (one solo, one assist).

Tusculum is second across the independent teams in aces per set (1.35), good for 21st nationally. Individually, Miselli ranks first among the unaffiliated with .515 aces per set, 10th nationally. Amorim averages .708 blocks per set, third amongst the independent players, while Blanco is fourth with 6.58 assists per set.

LOOKING AHEAD
Alderson Broaddus (0-4) will play their first match in two weeks when they host the Pioneers on the 14th. The Battlers have yet to win a set this season after being swept by Geneva, St. Andrews, Wittenberg, and Daemen. Conrad Roszkowski has collected 22 kills thus far in the season, followed by 14 from Ifeanyi Ukachukwu. Trevor Filer has net 50 assists, while Eran Shifris leads with three aces. Chase Doyle and Roszkowski are tied with 13 digs. Ukachukwu has totaled eight blocks on one solo and seven assists, meanwhile, Roszkowski's eight are comprised of two solo and six assists.
