SUMTER, S.C. --- Tusculum University senior Frank Bonacia advanced to the men's singles quarterfinals in the ITA Southeast Regional tournament, held this weekend at the Palmetto Tennis Center.
Bonacia began play Sunday afternoon in the round of 16, and rallied for a 1-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 win over Oscal Del Granado of Flagler. In the quarterfinals, Bonacia faced Joaquin Benoit of North Georgia and dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision.
Bonacia, who was a round of 16 participant in the last ITA Regional in 2019, is 6-1 for the Pioneers this fall and 37-11 in three seasons at Tusculum.
The Pioneers will resume their fall schedule at the Carson-Newman Invitational, which will be held in Knoxville on October 22-23.
