YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. --- Young Harris College defeated Tusculum 6-3 in non-conference men's tennis action Wednesday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions (9-9) trailed 2-1 after doubles, but won five of the six singles matches against the Pioneers (10-6) to clinch the victory.
In doubles, David Siegle and Leon Seiz teamed up for an 8-5 win at flight one over Alex Pavel and Raul Quevedo, and Tashique Kader and Yago Fernandez earned an 8-4 win over Jan-Niklas Graetz and Javier Villar at flight two to give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead.
After winning the final doubles point, the Mountain Lions evened the score at 2-2 with a win at flight two singles. Fernandez put the Pioneers back ahead 3-2 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Daniel Tiboldi at flight one, but the Mountain Lions would win the final four matches to claim the team victory.
Tusculum will be on the road Saturday at Queens University of Charlotte for a 2 p.m. match with the Royals.
