HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. --- Steven Lin recorded a pair of points to lead the Tusculum College men's tennis team to a 7-2 victory over Young Harris College Tuesday morning at Hilton Head Island.
Tusculum improves to 8-1 overall, while the Mountain Lions fall to 10-7 this season.
The Pioneers captured two of the three doubles points, including an 8-3 decision at the second flight as Lin and Oliver Smith defeated Koen Gottenbos and Mitchell Midkiff. Tusculum also captured a huge point at No. 3 doubles as Drew Kiser and Gui Carvalho outlasted Matt Howard and William Dixon, 9-8 in pro sets.
YHC's Laurenz Schraepen defeated Henrique Rodrigues 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, but the Pioneers responded with five straight singles victories by Lin, Smith, Luis Zamora, Drew Kiser and Paulo dos Santos.
TC continues its Spring Break swing in South Carolina on Wednesday as they Pioneers face Stonehill College for a 6 p.m. match. Stonehill is the fifth-ranked team in the NCAA Division II East Region.
