NO. 31 MEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO MARS HILL 6-3 IN SAC OPENER

Tusculum Pioneers MARS HILL, N.C. --- The Mars Hill College men's tennis team (3-1, 1-0 SAC) handed No. 31 Tusculum College (5-2, 0-1 SAC) its first South Atlantic Conference loss since April 6, 2007, defeating the Pioneers 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon.

Tusculum took two of three matches in doubles play, while Mars Hill won five of the six singles matches on the afternoon. Henrique Rodrigues and Leo Guaycurus won their doubles match 8-4, while Steven Lin and Hunter Beal emerged victorious from their match with an 8-5 win. Drew Kiser notched Tusculum's win in singles play, taking his matchup 6-3, 6-4.

The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday when they host Francis Marion. Play begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
